Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than ten years. She also is the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at age 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the prestigious debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame she gained enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions about current affairs, political and culture. Arianna became famous after she made the decision in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate for the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. The project she headed was an Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes listed her as the most influential woman in media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as 12th on the listing. The Guardian also included her to the list of top 100 media outlets in the year 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was named president of this media group. This included many AOL properties at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. She was very close with her father, but it was the relationship she had with her mother which has shaped her. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. At 16 years of age she emigrated into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. Being the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head of Cambridge Union. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Also, she appeared on the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
