Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Her modelling career began in Italy which is where she was raised before being was born in California. Her first role as an actor was in the 1996 TV production Her Costly Affair. From there to starring in a minor role in the movie Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. Amy was unable to make the transition from modeling to acting since models aren't usually thought of as an actor of high quality. They're often given small or unimportant roles. Amy did not give up. She worked her way up to bigger roles. She began with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her play larger role. The film became a massive film at the box office and Amy had finally found the success she'd been seeking for more than 10 years. Amy went on to appear in major film projects like the Crank Series with Jason Statham, and Shameless.
